Your sunglasses do a lot for you — shielding your eyes from harmful UV rays, helping you see clearly in bright conditions, and, let’s be honest, making you look effortlessly cool. But they won’t last long if they’re left to rattle around at the bottom of your bag or wiped clean with your T-shirt.
Here’s how to keep your sunnies in top condition, scratch-free, and ready for every sunny adventure.

1. Always Use a Case
We know — it’s tempting to toss them in your bag. But that’s the quickest way to scratch the lenses. A sturdy case (hard shell, ideally) is your sunglasses’ best friend. Most of our frames come with one — and if not, we’ve got stylish, affordable options in-store.
2. Clean Them the Right Way
Quick wipe with your sleeve? Tempting — but risky. Dust and fabric can scratch the surface.
Do this instead:
-
Rinse lenses with lukewarm water
-
Use a lens-safe cleaning spray
-
Gently wipe with a clean microfiber cloth
Pro tip: keep a little lens cloth in your bag or car for quick smudge fixes.
3. Avoid the Dashboard Trap
Your car dashboard may seem like a convenient sunglasses shelf, but heat and UV rays can warp plastic frames and damage lens coatings. Instead, store them in the glovebox or in your case.
4. Hands Off the Lenses
It’s easy to grab your glasses by the lens — especially when you’re in a rush. But all those fingerprints? They're not just annoying, they can damage coatings over time. Always pick them up by the arms.
5. Keep Chemicals Away
Hair spray, sunscreen, perfume — these can all degrade your lens coating. When getting ready, pop your sunglasses on after applying products, not before.

With just a little care, your sunglasses can go the distance — and keep your eyes protected in style. Whether you’ve got a designer pair or an everyday staple, a scratch-free lens is a happy lens.
