Staring at a screen all day? You’re not alone—and if your job involves regular computer use, there’s something you should know: you may be entitled to a free eye test through your employer.
At Eye Emporium, we’re here to help make that process easy.
What the Law Says
Under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 (DSE), employers are legally required to provide eye tests for employees who use screens regularly as part of their job.
If glasses are needed specifically for screen work, employers must also contribute towards the cost.
Who Qualifies?
If you spend a significant part of your working day using a computer, laptop, or tablet, you likely qualify for a DSE eye test. This includes office workers, remote professionals, designers, analysts—anyone whose role depends on regular screen use.

How Eye Emporium Can Help
We’ve designed our Corporate Eyecare Scheme to make it simple for both employers and employees to stay compliant—while taking care of eye health.
Here’s what you get:

✔ £29.95 VDU Glasses Package if glasses are required for screen use (employees can reclaim this from their employer)
✔ 20% off any other glasses if VDU glasses aren’t needed, but you’d like to update your look
There’s no sign-up cost, no contract, and no minimum number of employees required. Just straightforward care, with expert optometrists and trusted service.
