John High Opticians and Audiologists are raising funds to support Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, a world-leader in training dogs to improve the quality of deaf people’s lives.

The charity trains dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds they would otherwise miss –  sounds that many people take for granted like the doorbell, alarm clock and even danger signals like the fire alarm. Being aware of these – thanks to a hearing dog – makes a real difference to deaf people’s lives, and can even save them.

To support this great charity, Audiologist Hadrian Harris and Managing Director Tim Ball took part in a sponsored 10k run to raise much needed funds. While working at John High, both Hadrian and Tim see the hardships suffered by people with hearing problems on a daily basis and decided to give their support to this worthy cause and help improve the lives of people with hearing problems.

We are very proud of their fantastic result, as not only did they complete the run, but also exceeded their sponsorship target! Congratulations to them and thank you to all that have donated!
