As a modern business, we know the impact that we can have on the environment and society around us. Everything we do has an effect, so for this reason we have a series of policies in place to enable us to understand, monitor and manage our impact.

A Green Effect policy helps us to lessen our waste and work towards improving the environment, as we also uphold strict ethical, professional, and legal standards in every aspect of the business. We take care in complying with the following regulations:

  • Environment Protection Act
  • Controlled Waste (Duty of Care regulation) Act
  • Waste Management Regulation.

It is our aim to be the employer of choice in the areas surrounding our practices. This means that we take our responsibilities to the environment, the community and you, the patient, very seriously. We also encourage our suppliers to do the same. At Eye Emporium we acknowledge our responsibilities in pioneering change hence. our love with partnering with various charities across the world and also involving our patients along the way.

Eye Emporium proudly collects old spectacles and donations for Vision Aid Overseas to allow them to improve eye care for more people worldwide. Vision Aid Overseas sends donated unused and unwanted spectacles to countries where eye care is not available, and put organised funds into local sight centres. Many children in Uganda can’t progress through school because of poor eyesight. Sadly, in many cases they are turned away from education and a potential future.

Donations to fight against sight loss is a key notion Eye Emporium stand for. As we know 80% of our memories are created by what we perceive through our vision. Donations are used to help fund the best quality medical researchers on over 150 projects, at Eye Emporium we take part in the support by fundraising in stores to make an impact on pioneering research into sight loss. Since then fight for sight has found 5 new inherited eye disorders, identified how map of eye movement can detect early signs of glaucoma and new treatments for various other eye conditions.

Orphans in need has helped fund schools, hospitals and overall social welfare, where global industrial powerhouses are taking advantage of areas in poverty. Offering the chance for children to have a full-time education will gift them an employable future where they too can make a difference. Working across 14 countries delivering the utmost change in poverty exploitation and improving future prospects for children living through war and abject conditions.
